WIERD is a weekly party run by artist and DJ Pieter Schoolwerth every Wednesday night from 11pm-4am at Home Sweet Home, located in downtown New York City. Since 2003 WIERD has been dedicated to featuring live performances by bands and DJs working within the worlds of Coldwave, Minimal Synth, Gothic, Darkwave, EBM, Industrial Dance, Electro, Apocalyptic Folk, and Postpunk and is specifically committed to showcasing difficult to find, very rare new and old music within these interrelated genres.

WIERD has featured live performances by Echo West, Sleep Museum, Jutta Koether and Mark Solotroff(Bloodyminded, ex-Intrinsic Action), Martial Canterel, Blacklist, Kid Congo Powers and Annie Anxiety, Vizusa(ex-Excepter), Carlos Giffoni(No Fun Fest), Aleister(Paul Anson, Andrew WK, Matt Sweeney, Spencer Sweeney), Diako Diakoff, San Serac, Tobias Bernstrup, Fanuelle, and Pleasures of Xanten (Three to Forgotten, Sleep Museum and Alex Waterman from Ming).

Guest DJs have included Glenn Maryansky(Blacklist/NYC), Gilles LeGUEN(Decadanse/NYC/Paris), Mark Solotroff(Chicago), Ramiro Jeancarlo(Staccato du Mal/Miami), Lieven de Ridder(Antwerp), Veronica Vasicka(Minimalwave.org/EastVillageRadio.com), DJ Dead Sexy Inc(Paris), Miss Liz Wendelbo(Xeno and Oaklander/NYC), Cheyney Thompson(Epee du Bois/NYC), and Sean McBride(Martial Canterel/NYC).
